Thoughts on Kira: He is Kira. He believes that Kira is a God, who cannot be opposed. There is no way anyone can oppose him and beat him in the end; at least in his mind that is true.
Overall Personality: Light used to be a caring individual who wished he could do something about all of the criminals causing trouble in innocent people's lives. That isn't who he is now today, however. Ever since he found the Death Note, he had turned into an uncaring person, who only seems to care about the feelings of those in his family. He isn't above using someone for his own benefit, and will lie profusely, using his great acting skills, to get to his ends.

He believes that his justice as Kira is absolute and he could eventually become the God of the world. He wishes for a peaceful world where no one commits crimes. This idealism has lead to the degradation of his caring attitude and strong sense of justice. Light also has an ambition to become God, while previously wanting to become a great police officer.

History:
Light was always a brilliant person, even as a kid. And he has always wished to become a police officer, just like his father, who is the chief in the NPA. His father was the one who Light looked up to and wanted to become like, leading to his goal to become a police. Light earned top grades in school, and is on track to gain entrance into the best school around, so he could become a police officer.

However, not but a couple of weeks prior, Light saw a notebook fall from the sky, which he picked up after class. On the cover was the words Death Note, in English. He took the notebook, reading the instructions on the inside, and initially believing it was a hoax. He decided that it was worth a try to check and see if it really was real, and he wrote the name of a criminal down. When the criminal died, he was shocked, and decided he would test it again later, and did, making a man die by getting run over by a truck.

Light took the Death Note home to his room once more, then encountering the Shinigami Ryuk, who had previously owned the notebook before tricking the Shinigami King for his second Death Note. Ryuk explained what the Death Note was made for, and the consequences of using it. Light then decided that he would want to become the God of the world, bringing divine punishment down onto all criminals. He soon became known as Kira all around, and hunted down by the renown detective, L.
