Thoughts of Kira: He doesn't understand Kira. He believes that everything can be solved through words, and the fact that Kira is killing just because they committed a crime, without knowing the reason behind it is unreasonable. Kai is not aiming to stop Kira, though, because Kai does respect Kira for taking some sort of action on the problems of the world.
Overall Personality:
Kai is a normally quiet and gentle guy, who just wants to get higher in the world, eventually becoming a successful scientist and inventor. Kai keeps to himself most of the time, but due to his seclusion in his early life, he loves being around people. He hates people, but has a hard time when he is alone. He can't concentrate alone, and his mind bounces around from one thought to another. Kai really doesn't like people in general, as most are mean to him, and try to hurt him or pick on him.

However, Kai won't let the attitude of the people around him get him down. He knows what he wants and he won't let anyone get in his way. Kai isn't one to get in trouble, and when he does, it's because he was defending himself from a bully, and ends up getting in trouble for it. However, if someone gets in the way of his goal of being a scientist and an inventor, he won't hesitate to get them out of his way. He'd try talking to them first about it, before pulling out the big guns and threatening them. Kai won't actually hurt anyone, at least he doesn't think he would, unless they still wouldn't back down and let him reach his goal.

History: Kai was born into a perfectly normal family. His father was a business man for a small firm, and his mother was a stay at home mother. However, when Kai was little, he never saw anyone besides his parents, and soon, his parents seemed to forget little Kai, fighting all the time. Kai was forced to stay in the house, feeling like he was invisible. He made himself learn how to read, and began studying at home. When he was 10 years old, he managed to get out of the house for once, and got himself into a good school that he managed to get money for by an anonymous rich person. That person never met with Kai, but funded him even until today.

The fact that Kai had to teach himself for a few years, and had to remain in the house where his parents seemed to forget about him (except when he tried to leave or when he misbehaved and he got in trouble then, but nothing else really), fighting all the time, made Kai a very anti-social kid, but he couldn't seem to get enough of spending time with people, even if he was reluctant to actually speak with anyone. Kai managed to impress his anonymous donor that has paid for his official education when he managed to get out of the house. Kai is now a Junior at his private school, and he is hoping that he can get into a good college, and perhaps meet the one who is funding his education.
